Frequently Asked Questions

What is LED?

LED is standard for Light Emitting Diode,a kind of semiconductor which is used to give and receive the electronic signal into infrared rays or light, using the characteristics of compound semiconductor. This is used for household appliances, remote controller, electric bulletin board, various kinds of automation appliances.

What is a LED Screen?

A LED screen is a video display which uses light-emitting diodes. An LED panel is a small display, or a component of a larger display or screen. They are typically used outdoors in store signs and billboards, and in recent years have also become commonly used in destination signs on public transport vehicles. LED panels are sometimes used as form of lighting, for the purpose of general illumination, task lighting, or even stage lighting rather than display.

What can I show on my LED Screen?

We can help you show anything you want on your screen. Plug in a laptop and show presentations, videos, and slideshows. We can take live video feeds and signals from your computers, vision mixers, or any output source including CV, VGA, HDMI, DVI, SDI, HD-SDI and more.

How big are LED Screens?

LED Screens are modular. They are actually made up of lots of individual panels or modules. The panels can be connected in any shape or size to create a screen that you want. The panels in our V-Lite range are 576 x 576 mm.

What is the life span of an LED Screen?

The life time for our LED screens is over 100,000 hours, but it depends how the client is taking care of his LED screen and how it is used. When a LED Screens´ life time will get to 100,000 hours, it means that the brightness of the LED´s of the LED screen is about 50% of it´s original brightness, depending on several factors that will enlarge a LED screen´s life time or reach 100,000 hours.

What is Pixel Pitch?

The pixel pitch is the distance between the centre of an LED (or group of LEDs that make up a pixel) and the next adjacent LED. The smaller this distance, the closer all the LEDs on the screen are together and the better the resolution – meaning a more detailed picture. So a lower pixel pitch number means a better resolution than a higher pixel pitch number.

How do I decide what screen is right for me?

There a few factors that that determine what screen and size of screen will be right for your event. These include how close your audience are to the screen, the audience size, if your event is indoors or outdoors. The easiest option is to give us a call on 0800 074 6902 and we will have you in your decision.

Can you curve the screens?

Yes some of our panels can curve and bend both horizontally and vertically to create almost any look desired.

Are the screens IP rated (Weather Proof)?

Ingress Protection (IP) is a European rating that describes the degree of protection provided by an enclosure of electrical equipment. The rating system consists of the letters IP followed by two numbers:

The first number indicates the degree of protection against solid foreign object ingress.

The second number indicates the degree of protection against liquid ingress.

According to this system an IP65 enclosure will not allow the ingress of dust and is protected against jets of water from any direction. IP65 enclosures are ideal therefore for use in wet and wash-down environments for example food preparation areas.
